Why is their so little wildlife in europe and north america?

Are us white people not using our power to distry rather than to preserve? (there is lots of God created wildlife in Africa and Asia)Why is their so little wildlife in europe and north america?
Because we like to eat them, not share with them. Why is their so little wildlife in europe and north america?
Your question is based on a false premise.

Where you got the idea of so little wildlife 'Anywhere' is the question I have? You have either been lied to or not done enough research. There is enormous amounts of wildlife everywhere you go or look, including the bottom of the oceans and the artic circle. There is NO shortage of life anywhere of any kind and to interject ';white people' as an element is just as much a false premise as your first one was.

You like working with animals then become a Biologist. You normally earn good money. You should do a PHD if you are thinking of becoming a Biologist. You can also become a Ornithologist or Zoologist. There are lots of other types of scientists you can become if you want to work with animals. You can also try becoming a Vet nurse or a Vet doctor. There are also other careers like a zookeeper or a RSPCA inspector for animals welfare.

Can u pls give me some information on ';importance of wildlife';..............?

You should do your English homework first. The last I knew Please wasn't spelled pls.

God Bless. Can u pls give me some information on ';importance of wildlife';..............?
Wildlife is an integral part of the ecosystem.

The ecosystem and wildlife are interdependant on each other. For e.g-

1. If all tigers, lions, leopards (carnivores) are killed( god forbid) there would be an increase in the number of herbivores (deers etc)

They would overgraze and lead to soil erosion, ruin farmlands etc.

Thus the balance of nature shall be broken .Can u pls give me some information on ';importance of wildlife';..............?
supper
wildlife is vital in keeping a balanced ecology.

for example:

with out the insect there will be no way for som trees or flowers to pollenate and multiply. this means that forest will be depleted and die. with out the trees carbon dioxide will not be converted to oxygen. without oxygen we will not exist.

so for our own survival we need to keep those around us (wildlife) alive as well...
“One can wonder at the diversity and beauty of nature, but also its specificity and

ruthlessness. We are primarily interested in the welfare of one species, Homo sapiens,

and other animal and plant species that interact with us humans. There are probably

less than a hundred other species making up most of these interactions, both beneficial

and detrimental, accompanying anthropogenic activities. Thus there are both assets

and liabilities in species invasion” (D. Scott, 1997)

Starting from there, there are a lot of interaction between us and the plant and animal that you can think of. Usage of plants, in meds, in environment, economy, food as well as the animal.

Why do humans have such a callous view on pollution resulting in extinction/endangerment of wildlife???

Most people are going about their lives and not individually killing wildlife. Lots of people would probably even deny that they are contributing to extinction of wildlife. They are not cutting trees, hunting, trapping, clearing wild land for development or pouring dioxin on the ground are they? Some are, but I am not. Most are not. It is not individuals, but the sum total of what all people do that is the problem. The problem is too many people. If there were only 10 people in the world, those 10 could each pollute 100 times more than the dirtiest people do now and not one single species would go extinct. So the biggest thing you as an individual can do to lessen your impact on the environment is to not contribute more people to the problem, Do not have any children. Why do humans have such a callous view on pollution resulting in extinction/endangerment of wildlife???
You have your car. You live in a home with heat, electricity, hot water, running water, a computer to ask Yahoo Answer's, you go to the Mall. You eat hamburgers, hot dogs, pork chops, pizza with pepperoni. You take a shower every day with nice soap and shampoo. You fly to Florida during the winter for Spring Break. You wear leather shoes, belts silk shirts. Have a pocket book or wallet to put your money. Hey twenty first century technology ain't too bad. Perhaps you would like to live in a tent or cave or log cabin. Go fetch the water at the water hole three times per day, Boil it in the fire you make after you chop the firewood. Walk or ride a horse every time you want to go somewhere. Where you going to go? You have no time. Between the crops that need tending or hunting or taking care of the sick kids because the witch doctor or shaman is busy with someone else, where do you think you are going?

You have these big ideals? Well perhaps you should live in a cave or the log cabin. Ditch your car and the mall and the Internet and TV. Are you worried about the animals? Quit eating fried chicken and BBQ and start growing all your food. And the leather shoes and belts and pocketbooks have to go too. Make sure you get rid of all these things before you start complaining. Like all these big movie stars complaining about the environment. Then they get on their Lear Jet for the Premier which puts more pollution in the air going across country than most people in their car in 10 years. You think I am callous? The alternative is back in the stone age.Why do humans have such a callous view on pollution resulting in extinction/endangerment of wildlife???
Simply because humans are too greedy and apathetic. We do not care until it hits us.
Mainly a Christian attitude speaking from experience of having lived among various kinds of cultures ,including African and central American Natives.as well as African and American Christian cultures ,

it always astounds me the callousness that exist with this culture ,and always the response is the same.

1)God put these animals here for us ..we can do with them what we like .

    2) humans and animals are not of the same concept animals have no feelings or emotions

    3) when we die we go to a Paradise far more beautifully that here on Earth,so what happens here really doesn't matter

4)Nature is ugly full of devils and is meant to be turned into civilization and agriculture

    5) when people die custom demands that some trees are cut down as well ,for a coffin and lots more for crosses and temples

these five concepts are responsible for most of the worlds environmental destruction (of both flora and fauna),contamination excessive farming ,pollution, excessive hunting ,extinction of Natives, deforestation,

and this culture is the planets biggest enemy

Pagan cultures philosophies are exactly the opposites of the ones listed above.
they have not found their god in any other object than themselves. even if they practice a religion, they wouldnt be that way if they actually followed it properly. let me tell you though that churches dont practice the word of let us worship our trees and pray to the animals so that they always will be. they dont say let us go and collect the herbs so we can heal and feed our families. they dont say let us plant our crops this season, and let us be thankful for the plentiful crop that has grown. we cant say there bad people but we do know for sure that they dont make there church teachings like this at all. they yell at you to love god in big church rock bands these days and to confess sins mostly. the part that scares most people is that god will send anyone to hell for thousands of reasons. so there really are alot of christian people who dont get the better kind of teacings in life. so i said that they dont see god in anything else but themselfs. if they seen god has created a tree, and why wouldnt they, because thier tree of life is an olive tree, they would see their god in that tree and respect it so that it will always be. you can go with this philosophy on all nature subjects. dont ever let anyone say its a new religion against the church. tell them to expand thier minds to these concepts as they make a church person more spiritual and adds to church doctrine. a company that makes and makes and keeps making will run out of resources some time. but what they are doing is unto the wild living things which will affect us if they dont quit. god and all his alias names and symbols (unicorn, wizard, allah, and, and and, and and) is the root of all creation. he inspires the art we create. you see it first and foremost in painters. some works are truly unbelieveable in beauty. thier god gave them the ability and hence the painting. it is a one of a kind, has deep spiritual meaning to its buyer if especially it is a one of a kind. it is completely ok for that artist to spin enough canvas material for that art piece; to gather and mix enough paint material, because since it is only one peice, the world will be ok still. if that same artist became greedy and built a factory and mass produced a hundred billion copies of that one work of art, gods plan for the painting is ruined. he wanted only that one person to see it everyday, and when the entire world sees it, he might as well have not endowed the artist with the abilities in the first place. this is what makes everyones god sad. as ten hundred thousand factory produced paintings kiills the equivalent of the smallest forrest creatures. peace
If wildlife didn't want to become extinct it should have worked harder at school, got a good job and made sure it could afford to buy some nice real estate somewhere. I have no sympathy.

We cannot have layabout wildlife just loitering about the neighbourhood not contributing to the economy! Get out there and contribute!

Why Is Wildlife , Coming Within City Limits?

Obviously animals dont understand the political boundaries like city limits which are set up by humans. Wildlife have do what they can to survive, since humans have overpopulated and continue to do so.

Why didnt you ask, ';Why do humans continue to go outside their city boundaries?';Why Is Wildlife , Coming Within City Limits?
didn't you hear that all the wildlife are coming together to take over your house? Why Is Wildlife , Coming Within City Limits?
intelligent wildlife is what is called opportunistic

they come for the easy food . I know that conservationists believe that we are encroaching on their territory but that fact is they like to eat --and being lazy like us-- they prefer their food the easy way ---like our fruit trees or dustbins or bowls of dog food or catfood or just plain garbage. We are actually unwittingly encouraging t hem them!!!!!!!!! possums and foxes just love us.
Because so many people is buying up farms and turning them into subdivisions and take the wildlife's habitat away from them
Because city limits have expanded over the wild life homes. They were here before we were. All the suburban areas growing..more housing..malls etc..all those areas use to be the animals natural home.. Also, while more forests and greenery fields are being built over..it also means the food resources are diminishing for the animals, so theyu have to look for food in other areas.
Mankind is uprooting and destroying their natural habitat.

We use to get a lot of hummingbirds in our backyard. Then the construction companies began tearing down honeysuckle vines and trees in the fields across the road. New homes and businesess went up. A bypass was built. We have very few hummingbirds now.

    So much for progress !
because city limits are going within wildlife
Because their habitat is decreasing. As human population increases people clear more and more area of land to make cities. These areas are home to millions of creatures. As their homes are destroyed they make cities and towns their home.
I never thought of it that way before. I thought Cities are invading wild life areas.

Differance between wildlife cetury and national park?

i want differences between themDifferance between wildlife cetury and national park?
    They are managed differently.

A sanctuary connotes that wildlife and habitat are the primary uses. A national park is managed jointly for people and wildlife.

Then again, sometimes the terms are interchangable. And there is no difference.

Need for the protection of forest and wildlife?

Habitat degradation and destruction is the greatest threat to wildlife. You are really not doing much to protect a species, if that species has no habitat to survive upon.

A good example is the Florida panther. Fewer than 50 survive now. Hunting was ceased 50 years ago. Yet the numbers decline. Draining wetlands, building roads, houses, and all those people have severely shrank what was once panther habitat. Now most mortality is caused by automobiles. Each of them lost further reduces the species chance of survival.

While protecting animals is cool and gets attention, protecting the habitat is a must. So, all you animal lovers out there need to be educated about habitat as well as animals.

What is the importance of forests and wildlife?

understanding the importance of forests and wildlife in our enviroment and developing concern towards deplition of resourcesWhat is the importance of forests and wildlife?
I'll take a crack at it, I think the importance of forrests and wild life are a very important working part of balancing the entire globe. As the plants on the earth are just as much dependant on animals (humans included) as the animals on the planet are dependant on the plants. Not only for food, but because animals need O2 to survive, so do the vegitation need CO2 to survive. We exchange gasses and without one or the other, NO life for either. There has to be a balance of the two in order to co-exist. Sure chemistry has proven that substitutes can be accomplished in the lab to provide food and energy for animals, but what kind of a world would it be if no animals existed or no plant life existed? I think that if development means getting rid of the wild life and plant life, then for every acre of developed land, there should be an equal ';development'; of forrest or wild life or both somewhere else dedicated to just that. If you use something, replenish somewhere else. In other words, if you are destroying the forrest to build a sky scraper, then you need to replenish by giving back to the earth what you used. An acre of developed land for an acre of land you or your company can dedicate to the re-forrestation, and deposit of ';natural'; growth. My thoughts. What is the importance of forests and wildlife?
    importance for me is

forests needed for fire wood to heat home

    wildlife needed for food
    the territory of the elves

    is as important as ourselves

    its now has been debated

    that everything is related

if bad thing happen to the trees ,

and bad thing happen to the bees

then we will be in trouble

    so everybody on the double

    be nice to mother nature

or fate will burst our bubble
very big..i preffer to live in forest ..then stay all the time and look at these huge buildings more taller then me...and who defy me..and laugh at me..countryside is so cool..the houses look as tall as the men ..and you can see the sky...and even guess that there are angels there
    Think...

No trees, no wood, no houses.

And no plants no food, no medicine, clothes, no oxygen!. Almost everything we have starts from plants if you think about it.

Hello! I am planning a trip with my mother for late June/ early July. We are on a budget and would like to stay in the United States. Canada is a possibility too. We love shopping, sightseeing, horseback riding, and I would love to see some wildlife too. My Mom is not much of a camper.

We are from NYC and want to travel away from home. We have seen most of the New England States.

We are looking for funky little towns with lots to do. Any ideas. Thanks for reading!Planning a trip.Late June/early July.In US or Canada. Love shopping, sightseeing, %26amp; wildlife. Any thoughts?
Try the mountains around Tennessee. We went to Gatlinburg in December and went to Cades Cove (in nearby Townsend) everyday for a week--it is beautiful! Lots and lots of places around the Smoky Mountains have horseback riding and really neat cabins/lodges to stay in. With all the woods around, you are bound to see wildlife. I couldn't tell you how many dozens of deer and turkeys we saw in Cades Cove. My husband (who is a wildlife nut) says there should be lots of deer, turkeys, and even bears there around the time you are going. I'm sure there are lots of neat shops most anyplace you go around there. I can't help but add this---please don't vacation in Canada--I'm boycotting them b/c they still allow the seal hunt every year. This year the government has approved the slaughter of 270,000 seals. Whether anyone agrees with it or not, this is just plain cruel! I have seen the videos and they are gruesome. The good ol' USA has plenty of beautiful vacation spots to check out. Thanks!

PS: my husband said to tell you to go to the Grand Canyon...they have some kind of really cool walkway that extends out over the canyon.

I live up in the mountains. Believe it or not during mating season the male deer can be mean. One day I went into my backyard and there were 2 deers (male %26amp; female). I guess the male deer thought I was going to hurt the female. He came charging after me. Luckily I was by my door, I ran inside. He had some HUGE antlers on him.
Dropbears. They are well hidden in the Australian bush but are very vicious, although they seem to have a particular liking to Americans tourists because of thinner skull and softer brain cells.

    Cheers
I'm still the scariest critter in these parts. While I'm not nearly as wild as I was 25 or 30 years ago one can never be sure what I might do. This is definitely true around mating time. You know when the hormones start over riding the brain.

I want to prepare a EVS project[about 30 pages]..the topic is 'Wildlife Under Threat'.....?

Which main points should i consider in this project????I want to prepare a EVS project[about 30 pages]..the topic is 'Wildlife Under Threat'.....?
    hi

Some of the issues are -

    1. The forests are important wildlife habitats and they are getting destroyed by human beings..

2, Territorial animals like tiger and elephant will be squeezed out of the over-populated forests into human settlements and plantation .

    3. The WWF are working on additional breeding plans including such endangered species as :-

    路 Asian Elephants

    路 Bengal Tigers

    路 White Rhinoceros

    路 Gorillas

    路 Flatback Turtles

    4. The list of animals under threat seems to grow as each year goes by, and while the situation is grave for a number of the best know species of animal, there have been numerous success stories. The WWF, and similar charities, continue to play a major part in the pursuit of saving endangered species, ensuring that the children of tomorrow will not be robbed of the beauty of some of these animals under threat.

    5. Illegal trading of animals, skins, bones etc.

CrawfishWhat wildlife lives at a river? PLEASE AWNSER ASAP!?
Every living animal needs food, water and shelter. So, many creatures reside near a river.
How convenient that I actually LIVE by a river - a HUGE one, at that!

I walk my dog along the dike, almost daily. In my endeavors, I've seen . . .

    deer

    birds

    bunnies

    squirrels

    turtles

    groundhogs

    ducks

    geese

    crane

    storks

    raccoons

    beavers

    snakes

    foxes

    and of course, FISH!

I don't know if all these animals are considered ';river animals'; or not, but I've had the experience of seeing all of these, at one time or another. I think, just being ';water'; and that being a survival necessity, that's why some of the odd animals are also seen - that IS their source for H20!

    GOOD LUCK w/your project!
Platypus live on the banks of Australian rivers. Bird and fish would be the main ones to live around there though me thinks
salmon, grizzley bear, trout, moose, bald eagle.... every animal lives near a water resource

A viable solution to protect our wildlife?

We must protect the ecosistems that are endangered because millions of species survive in them. Also , the great Sir David Attenborough said that overpopulation is the cause of many enviroment problems . Therefore we must find a way to control the population .A viable solution to protect our wildlife?
The best solution to protecting wildlife is to protect habitat. By conserving large swaths of land and maintaining corridors for movement of mobile species, we can maintain a fairly high level of biological diversity on the planet. Because of migratory species, and global climate change, this needs to happen throughout the world. Species that breed in one country may overwinter in another.

The cool thing is, good management can ensure that wildlife is protected while allowing people access to see the wildlife and the areas where they live. It's a win-win situation, one that future generations will appreciate.A viable solution to protect our wildlife?
    You could either:

1.Make a leaflet of a project and find a way of communicating with other people. It all works with education then less people will do it.

    2. Stop throwing so much rubbish on the streets or in the sea. The animals sometimes eat the rubbish and are poisoned. Tell others that as well.

    3. Join an environment club and help to save the world! Tell as many people as you can and inform them how boring the world would be without animals. Would they like that? I don't think so.

    Good luck!
The wildlife are doing fine. Most of it anyway. You can't tell other countries what to do with thiersWe can only hope nothing is hunted to exrinction in this day and age.It would be an awful wasteHunger will be the driving force, for animals and people.

    2) Meaning of conservation. (15-20 lines).

    3) Conclusion from the topic WILDLIFE CONSERVATION.

I've found the other required things but please help me in this by sharing your valuable articles with me.I'm doing a project on WILDLIFE CONSERVATION. Please provide me with the following informations..?
I am not doing your homework, but check the www.wwf.orgI'm doing a project on WILDLIFE CONSERVATION. Please provide me with the following informations..?
    Do a google search-key word-wildlife conservation

There are a lot of things there to choose from.
Well this is not a very good idea of getting your home work done by others.

This will not help you much but reading and doing your homework will help you understand about conservation in a much better way.

Wildlife: Any and every thing living free in nature be it plant or animal is wildlife.

Conservation: To save something and using it in a very conservative way. That is not hurting anything but living sustainably and using natural resources in a very planned mannere so as to save them for coming generations.

So this is just something to makeyou think and do your work.
I would like to help but since you have made it clear this is your project, I feel it would be unethical for me to do your work for you.
as much as i love to help you out, but i don't feel like being used. sorry!
Search at Google. They have meanings of the words you're looking for..
You will never learn something at school if you ask others to do your school work for you.

You also need to understand that this is not a place for us to make your life easier. This is a place to share knowledge, to clarify doubts, to answer questions that are not part of your homework.

Respect others and respect yourself...by trying to learn something without help.
conservation of wildlife includes many different aspects. here is a way to protect the rainforests, coral reefs and the planet in everyday life.

Over 80% of the dry tropical forests from northern Costa Rica to Mexico have been cut down. Areas of this size and larger have been cut down throughout the world including the Amazon, Indonesia, the Congo and other rain forests. The Caribbean side of Costa Rica has also been decimated with deforestation. The temperature after removing the

rain forest has risen dramatically in these large tracts of land. The weather pattern also changes from this deforestation in each locality and they become drier. When these huge

areas have their trees removed, erosion dumps millions of tons of sediment into the rivers that flow into the oceans. This sediment slowly suffocates the polyps of the precious coral reefs in the tropics. What is the main reason for cutting these rain forests down? The main reason is to make room to raise cattle, not logging as many people think. With logging they generally cut down large hardwoods. To raise cow meat they cut down everything. In Central America

much of the beef is exported to the United States. The cattle industry, over all, causes more global warming than car emissions do. What can the average person do? eat soy, legumes and nuts as a protein source. This is a better way to practice sustainability. If the beef is grown in the United States sorry that isn't sustainable either. A person who eats cow meat (beef) as their main protein source requires about 30 acres of land each year and over 2000 gallons of precious water to raise that steer for protein. That is not sustainability. A person eating soy for their main source of protein only requires one acre of land and about 40 gallons of water each year to grow it. Also, soy doesn't add millions of tons of methane gas each year to our atmosphere. it actually absorbs co2. cows do produce over 100 million tons of this global warming methane gas in the U.S. alone. Cattle excrement also is adding to major pollution problems in our water systems today. Stop eating beef! Or if you absolutely can't stop eating beef, cut back to once a week or once a month. if you must eat a meat chicken is much less destructive to the environment than beef, here in the tropics. Besides, refraining from eating beef is healthier in the long run.

Here is another important environmental disaster, 90% percent of the shrimp served in the U.S. and in other countries comes from the tropics. It is harvested in non-sustainable ways. I have witnessed in one month over 190 sea turtles wash up on shore with their fins cut off, dead from drowning by shrimpers in the osa penninsula. Along with that, for every pound of shrimp harvested, about ten pounds of other creatures are killed and thrown overboard. Yes, much shrimp is farmed. The farms are generally constructed where mangrove swamps, another very important and fragile ecosystem, have been cut down for this purpose and ponds are made to raise the shrimp. After the shrimp are harvested from these ponds the water in them is released into the mangroves. Unfortunately the nitrate level is so high that many of the mangrove fish and other underwater creatures die. So eating shrimp is not sustainable either for our planet. If you want to take responsibility in helping save our planet from global warming, deforestation of the rain forests, dying coral reefs there are many other eating alternatives. please, eat to live, don't live to eat.

For our children's sake and the sake of the rain forests, coral reefs and the entire planet we need to step up and do something other than practice over indulgence. Cavemen had to hunt to get their protein and that was ok. Then we started raising animals to get our protein and that was needed. Now we know how to get all of the protein we need from plants. So it is time to evolve another step and stop the senseless cruelty to raising animals for food and also help control global warming and its effects at the same time.

In what ways can we protect wildlife?

Habitat and ecosystem protection is a great way to protect wildlife. Reducing pollution in the environment is another way to protect wildlife. Providing 'greenways' that link isolated populations is another way to protect wildlife and ensure genetic flow between these groups.

Strict wildlife protection laws are another way to protect wildlife. Captive breeding programs for endangered or threatened species is also another way we can protect wildlife.

Limiting the demand for wildlife products is another way to protect wildlife. Not consuming products or contributing to products that use wildlife is a further way to protect wildlife.

Active conservation and wildlife management is yet another way to protect wildlife.

Joining a conservation organization such as The Nature Conservancy, The National Wildlife Federation, The Sierra Club, Greenpeace, The World Wildlife Fund, and Defenders of Wildlife are another positive way to help wildlife. In what ways can we protect wildlife?
to the ';going cranky'; who says only the stupid animals are dying off.

hey dude! did u ever go to primary school???

gosh...i really wanna smack off ur brain!

listen stupid head...man-made pollutions in the Yangtze river in china causes the Yangtze river dolphin to extinct!

(that's just 1 cause of the many millions)

so actually...it's humans who drives these animals to extinct....

well...it's easy for u to say they're stupid coz obviously u dont care about animals at all and u're stupid too!!

good luck for you future and stop being stupid or u'll die off...as u say(^;^)In what ways can we protect wildlife?
SUZYHOME is right why not look at our own back yard homeless people, taking away the rights of first nations people, looking after the animals is a great thing but lets not forget our fellow human beings.
By protecting their natural habitats..most endangered species are endangered for this reason: habitat destruction, fragmentation, encroachment, etc.
    build habitat's for the animals
Let's start with our own kind first shall we. How about protecting a human baby, what a concept.
habitat destruction is mainly caused by humans and is the leading cause of the decrease in wildlife populations. lets all regenerate and preserve the habitats people!

and as for the how about protecting our own human babies comment someone else said...look at where thats gotten us. overpopulation my friend! which y the way is another cause of wildlife pop's decreasing. the more humans, the more land taken and the more unrenewable resources being used/pollutants aka the moer habitats we destroy.....dur.
I refer to one person who believes that only the ';stupid'; animals are dying off. Can you elaborate what ';stupid'; is?? And then place some thought to what need these animals have on the environment and other species that live within it? Food chain is one of the biggest thing that people take for granted. Also, a big problem people don't get is the sale of reptiles and amphibians especially though the pet shop system. What happen when you or some family member gets over the animal. It is the same with cats and dogs. They are just let go within areas that they are not commonly found causing havoc on our ecosystems. Disease outbreak is huge, or competition for food increases. You can't stop people however you can educate people. It is the first step.
when you help the environment in just anyway, recycling, resuing, reducing waste, spreadign the awarness just about anything for the environmenr its a chain effect and surely your help can end up in the conservation of wildlife, it maybe not a direct help but i think its a big thing for theor preservation.
Well, you can make little boxes in to homes for squirrels or rabbits and put them outside. you can support wildlife conservations. you can also adopt an acre of rainforest for $39 dollars, that means you'll get a certificate that shows that area is yours so that people cant cut it down. heres a website to adopt an acre of rain forest for $39
Recycle, use less energy, go veg/vegan, blah blah blah.

Or you could have some fun and run over some possums in New Zealand (not Australia!).
only the stupid animals are dying off, the smart one`s live onward

Does anybody else care about world wildlife fund?

Of course! Some people are ignorant and to happy with their happy-go-lucky, carefree lives to give a crap about it but they definitely need to! No one is taking action, especially people who don't know that if you odn't save the earth, you WON'T help the next generation to live environmentally-friendly and safely and healthy because you don't say a thing. In my opinion, everyone needs to stop being big-headed and selfish and look out into the world and say ';I WANT to make a change'; because so many other people are outshining those who don't understand. Just little things will help. Animals are mandatory things. Stop killing them. Stop hunting and poaching! They are just like humans. Be a humanitarean, get out there and help save a life! Help save the future. Well that is the way I see it and I DO care.

-liz a.Does anybody else care about world wildlife fund?

    Wildlife information for the US?

i'm trying to find some information on where we can see wildlife in the US. i'd like to see grizzly and polar bears ( i don't mind going to Alaska) but i won't have time to go to Winnipeg or Manitoba. i would also like to see Moose but the keyword is bears.

i'm surprised to see that there are no good sites for information on wildlife. i've checked out NPS and other websites but no luck.Wildlife information for the US?
Try the Tourist and Visitor Bureaus for the States your interested in.

    Alaska is a big place.

For bears try the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in Tennessee.

Pull weeds instead of using herbicides.

Learn about natural insect controls as alternatives to pesticides

.Ignore caterpillars and most native leaf-chewing insects.

Let birds and insect predators take care of them.

Use salts for slugs instead of baiting with poisons.

Plant things that don't require a lot of water.

Take extra plastic and rubber pots back to the nursery.

Large expanses of lawn are not good habitat for other creatures, plus they usually must be maintained with chemicals and extensive watering.

Dig up some of your grass and plant native shrubs and trees instead.

However there is an obvious self-inflicted penalty. When we destroy nature we destroy our beautiful home, and we may destroy creaures and plants that are beneficial to us. We continue to discover plants that have medicinal properties, and we continue to find amazing design in nature that we copy for our own benefit. As a simple example - velcro was invented having observed birds feathers and how the hooks and barbs hold the filaments together. So much of what he, himself, created is abomination: pigs, bats, snakes, eagles, shellfish, homosexuals, etc.

Aren't we doing HIS work by destroying those things?
Given the way the genocidal one has punished the human race over the years, he's the last one to be lecturing about contempt for living things
Punishment is here already, in the form of the gradual destruction of our own habitat and living resources.
of course not he isn't real. The Earth Mother will eventually suffer by all the damage to her wildlife as we need so much of it such as bees etc to pollinate.
revelation 11:18 says that He will destroy those that destroy the earth when Messiah arrives.
We are also the wildlife, but have tamed ourselves over time.

I am sad every time I leave a zoo. I wonder if animals go crazy in captivity. Are Zoos inhumane to animals. Isn't a zoo nothing more than an animal prison?Wildlife preserves excluded.?
Last night I was watching home videos. I came across a clip of my first time at the zoo. Apparently, I tried to rally the people there to set the animals free (I was around 4 or 5). I hated the zoo! I thought it was the saddest thing, to see them in cages.

Though, for some animals it is a good thing. I can't remember which it is (maybe the Koala), but it can't survive in the wild. So having it in a zoo is protecting it.

I have mixed feelings about zoos....Are Zoos inhumane to animals. Isn't a zoo nothing more than an animal prison?Wildlife preserves excluded.?
Zoos make me sad as well. I would not like to be locked in a similar sized enclosure.
I see them as an animal prison also, and I think that circuses are even worse. There should be far more oversight of most zoos and circuses need to be baned from having animals.
Yes zoos are inhuman...i dont understand why do u go to zoos when u dont like it over there..

I have a good idea for a book with animals

    its called Camp Wildlife

like a girl goes too camp too be with animals and stuff but i dont know what else too happen? help please..is it a good ideaMy book camp wildlife help?
Maybe you could make the story a fantasy one and have the girl discover a secret part of a forest where all the animals can talk to her and she can understand them, but it's only it that one part of the forest. You could have the girl at first just enjoy talking with the different animals in the forest (birds, raccoons, squirrels, mice, etc.) but then she sets out to discover just why the animals can talk in this one part of the forest but no other. Maybe there's a magical fairy or elf or witch who lives in the forest too and has placed a spell on that one part that allows the animals to speak.

Are Zoos inhumane to animals. Isn't a zoo nothing more than an animal prison?Wildlife preserves excluded.?

Should wwe change back to wwf if the wildlife fund isn't using the wwf initials anymore?

I've been reading different posts and articles around the web, and it seem the World Wildlife Fund doesn't really use the WWF initials all that much like WWE did. I've read articles where they've been called National Wildlife Fund, World Wild Life Fund, Wildlife Fund, Wildlife Federation, etc. But I've noticed that they only use WWF initials in the US and Canada, so why can't WWE sue WWF for the initials and rights? It's not like the Wildlife Fund REALLY needs them like WWE did. Post what you think on this?Should wwe change back to wwf if the wildlife fund isn't using the wwf initials anymore?
Why would the WWE go through all that trouble, its not like its gonna increase its fan base. It would be a waste of money and time.Should wwe change back to wwf if the wildlife fund isn't using the wwf initials anymore?
I heard that WWE was going to make WWF an official brand of the WWE like they did with ECW

The WWE actually now does have the right again to use the initials ';WWF.'; It's a point of copyright law that has to do with people confusing one product for another. And if you can confuse sports entertainment with endangered animals, you have issues.

I think they don't go back to WWF cuz it was such a big deal to change everything when the lower courts ruled that they had to change initials. The fans don't need more change. (Not of that type, anyway.)
paul bearer says its not about company innitials its about wrestling talent
No. Why would they? it would take a lot of time and people will get confused and they will waste money. Like for to change the website, logo name, and pay-per views.
world wildlife fund owned the rights before WWF. The reason WWF changed to WWE is because the Wildlife have the rights. WWF can't sue if they don't own the rights even if the wildlife doesn't use them. WWE tried to sue for the rapper The Game because WWE uses the name.
No. I like they're little pandas logo!
I've been following the real WWF since the 70's, I was surprised to see that something as dumb as wrestling would use such a humble acronym, leave it to whom it belongs. I have decals with WWF and a panda on it advertised on my cars.

I hope that you have, in your reading or browsing through the WWF site, learn something constructive.
they should stick to the WWE because if they did go back to WWF, they'd get screwed so hard even paris hilton would have to send them a congatulations card
    Yeah bring back the WWF
WWF vs WWF battle lasted years. If they were to go through that process again it would be ridiculous. It was a waste of money on both sides. Noone was ever confused that the World Wildlife Foundation was in anyway related to World Wrestling Federation. Besides, the logo blackouts for WWF video, the merchandise.. come on.. its jus a waste of cash at this point to even care.

    What is russian wildlife like?

like if you go to england you'd expect foxes and deer etc

if you go to russian woods or forests what animals would be there? What is russian wildlife like?
Russia is huge, it depends on what the place we are talking about. It's easy to google it but I can tell you from my own experience (I lived in Pskov region, Northwestern part of Russia) what the animals I saw myself in the forests (I really like picking up mushrooms in the forest :)). Here we go: hares, red squirrels, hedgehogs, red foxes, owls, ordinary grouse, a black grouse, an elk, a wild boar, an otter, beavers, vipers I was told by my friends that there were wolves, lynxes and brown bears but I didn't see them myself. Let alone various species of lake and river fish you can catch without any licenses for free. Believe me, in comparison with what I saw in the rest of Europe it's what I call paradise. :)

P.S. Sesso, welcome to Pskov forests in Russia. :) You'll see everything yourself. As for the English foxes it's a real disaster here. I've seen them everywhere where I lived in England strolling free in the countryside and scavenging in the urban areas. What is russian wildlife like?
    Dear friend,

Russian wild life is very wild and different in different places, since the country is huge. Even huge museums do not reflect Russian wildlife fully.

If you go to forest in Central or North-West parts of Russia, you can (better not!!!) meet boars, elks, deers, wolves, foxes, rabbits, bears, hedge hocks, snakes (some are poisonous, but quite short), wild bees, a lot of wild mosquitos :-) and many different birds. Maybe some other animals, too. Foxes, deers and rabbits often cross big highways :-)

In Eastern parts of Russia you can meet tigers and lynxes (they are found in many other places, too) as well.

It's in brief, of course. Russia is too huge and only specialists can give a full impression of Russian flora and fauna :-)

    Thank you!
    1. You would not see many foxes and deer in England. Certainly I've never seen a deer. Although there are plenty of squirrels.

    2. You would not see much wildlife in Russia, but there are rabbits and wolves in the wild. In Siberia however there is much more wildlife.
Foxes , Deer , alot of rabbits, maybe even bears, little snakes, etc there are pretty much anything you can think off

Will an FBI backround check for a non fbi job find a ticket from a wildlife and fisheries officer?

The ticket was for possesion of marijuana under 20 grams. Will an FBI backround check for a non fbi job find a ticket from a wildlife and fisheries officer?
a background check will show a conviction for possession of marijuana ( if you plead guity and paid the ticket) or if it went to court and was found guilty.

First and wildlife are POST certified law enforcement officers and thier tickets are normaly at the state level.

If you were ticketed and found not guilty or had case dismissed, it does not show up, if you were found guilty, it shows upWill an FBI backround check for a non fbi job find a ticket from a wildlife and fisheries officer?
it will appear. in most states conservation officers are just policemen in a different uniform
It might....unfortunately all sorts of stuff comes up now, thanks to the Patriot Act and all it's assorted offshoots.

Put it this way, I'd be surprised if it didn't show up. I had something come up from when I was 17 and that, my friend, was 100 years ago.
A FBI background check MAY find your ticket.

A FBI special background check WILL find your ticket.

If you are clean then tell the FBI about it.

Since the offense was a minor one; no jail term, and no required court appearance then the case is a minor one and should be forgiven. The best thing to do is to own up to the FBI and tell them about your ticket. Even Bill Clinton experimented with Marijuana, and he became President. It is normal for people to experiment and to make occasional mistakes. Minor ones can be forgiven.

What the FBI is looking for is a pattern of bad behavior. If you haven't been using pot in a while, and the ticket was a few years ago then this little mistake can be forgiven. They may wish you to submit to a drug test to make sure that you are clean. If that isn't a problem then you should be good to go.

The problem is that the FBI asked you to list any legal difficulties you had on the forms. If you didn't tell them on that form that you got a ticket for pot then you have lied to them and that won't look good.
    Yes, it will show up.
They will now. Don't think they aren't monitoring Yahoo Answers, and can't trace your IP address.

    Good work.
Yes. No question. Drug possession charges of any kind are the first thing they look for.
One....were you convicted? Two...no matter what the answer is yes. So...be truthful. most places won't whack you for a 20 year old offense. Especially a misdomeanor. however...the old ';Sorry but you were untruthful on your application when you said you were never arrested before (a ticket counts as an arrest...just not custodial) usually is a good ';wash-out'; tool.
    How long ago, though?
    It sure will.
Maybe but it won't keep you from getting a job. Lying about it will keep you from getting a job if you get caught.

How do wildlife protect itself from wildfires??

I am developing a childrens program and would like to be able to base it on accurate animal reactions to wildfires. How do wildlife protect itself from wildfires??
In most cases, a wildfire does not start as a rushing force that moves at high speeds. It will burn as a relatively small fire for a while. During this time, animals will flee from the smell of smoke. Unfortunately, in some cases, the adults will leave juveniles behind and the juveniles can't escape.

Most of the times when people are caught in fires it is because they stayed near the fire too long, either fighting the fire or thinking that the fire was still far off, and the flames caught up with them via a flareup.

Animals have an instinct to flee from the flames and thus are usually not caught although it is not completely unknown for animal carcasses to be found after particularly bad fires. How do wildlife protect itself from wildfires??
ah, smokey the bear carries a shovel i think.
Du ... They run like the wind!!!!!!
They have better instincts than humans; they run the other direction!
Animals have instincts that tell them when danger is near.. so when they are afraid of danger they run like hell.

I have heard about this type of work, but only second hand.

I've been told you want to get in touch with the local country animal control and find out what the rules and regulations in your area are. You could either work directly for them, or hire yourself out - depending on local rules.

Unfortunately, as you know, gun laws vary far too much from one place to another to give really solid advice - you need to find out what laws apply to YOU. Sometimes, each CITY has it's own rules!

    Preserving wildlife habitats?

Where can I find some credible online sources for information regarding the preservation of wildlife and their habitats and how their preservation might effect the lives of humans and the ecosystem as a whole?Preserving wildlife habitats?
Increasing human population at an alarming rate has brought Animals of land and water to near extinction. We may or may not know the importance of an animal but it is really important for the ecosystem of the earth and that is why it is evolved. so, as a responsible inhabitant of this earth we must some how preserve these animals from getting extinct. for example, there used to be many cheetahs in our country however there is not even one present in wild now. when i was young, in my Village if any animal dies there used to be thousands of Vultures to scavenge the carcass of the animal, but now, there is not even one to see ; animals are dying, thrown outside, their dead bodies lie for months and cause various type of land and water contamination which directly influencing lives of human and other pet animals. The conservation of these type of animals or birds is possible only if , we know much about their lifestyle, feeding habits, habitats and their behaviour. all this is possible when we have desire to do and can love all animals.Preserving wildlife habitats?

http://actionfund.defenders.org/palintru鈥?/a>From what I see is the video Mccain vp do not protect the wildlife. ?
Most of Alaska is uninhabited. The wildlife has free reign with lots of wilderness. I would imagine some animals are not welcome in the parts of Alaska that are populated. They are also trying to increase the moose and caribou population which the wolves kill. We have a day in Indiana where hunters are allowed in the state parks to thin out the deer population which is also rather cruel because they are less afraid of humans. Thousands of deer are killed that day. Sometimes animals become over populated and that leads to other problems. From what I see is the video Mccain vp do not protect the wildlife. ?

Usually to eradicate certain inherant deseases that are killing off those in the wild...they are in a natural setting and well looked after.....Limited public veiwing is usually the case...for obvious reasons...

The uncontroled ones are open ranges, usually appendixed to a national park, where none or limited hunting is alowed...

My house! My kids and myself bring home every stray we find! LOL
    ok junior, english comprehinsion 101;

    let's brek it down ;

wildlife; life or living creatures that live in the wild.

sanctuary ; a place of safe haven , or safe existance outside the reach of others or predators or persicution., and for this example in a natural wildlife setting as is natural for the animals in the sanctuary. normally also known that all religious centers are a sanctuary.

ok now let us combine them; animals who are born and live in the wild as wild animals , who are given sanctuary or safe haven away from predators, persicution and in order to preserve the species for the eco system's preservation.and those who provide such sanctuary view it as a religious experiance.
In olden Europe a person could run into a church and seek sanctuary from the law. As such it was a safe haven. In the ';Hunchback of Notre Dame'; Quasimodo (the hunchback) brought Esmeralda (the Gypsy dancer) into the church to prevent her execution declaring ';Sanctuary ... sanctuary ...'; She was as pretty as he was ugly.

Therefore a ';wildlife sanctuary' is a designated area where hunting is prohibited and even the public may be barred to prevent damage to habitat. Many wild creatures require a certain size area to bear and rear young. A sanctuary may be no larger than a small island that also affords natural protection.

I want to become a wildlife vet..?

And i already got accepted to UCDavis.

Which Major should i take?I want to become a wildlife vet..?
Davis offers many choices that would be good fore getting into veterinary school. Animal science is a good choices, but you can major in anything that you want and still get into veterinary school, as long as you have completed all of the prerequisite classes. To choose classes, you should talk to one the university's career counselors to get a suggested class list (Davis has a pre-vet track, so do that one.)

Check the websites for the schools you want to attend to see what their specific requirements are since most veterinary schools have slightly different requirements.

    Generally, you need to take

    1 year biology

    1 year general chemistry

    1 year organic chemistry

    1 year biochemistry

    1 -2 semesters of physics

cellular biology, microbiology, embryology, anatomy, physiology.

Some veterinary schools also require animal nutrition, economics, and encourage animal husbandry classes.

Most veterinary school require that you spend time working with a veterinarian and animals before you apply. Often 500+ hours. so get a job working in a clinic or volunteer with an animal organization before applying. If you want to do wildlife medicine, then you should get experience working in a zoo or at a wildlife center or something like that. You might look at doing stuff at UCD's Center for Wildlife Health, or volunteer/work at the VMTH.

Veterinary schools also require that you take either the GRE, MCAT, or VCAT.

There are 28 veterinary schools in the United States you can check out their websites, though I assume you want to go to UCD for veterinary school.

Getting into veterinary school is far more competitive than getting into medical school, so good luck!I want to become a wildlife vet..?

    3. What should I do to enhance or improve my application?

Earn high grades and perform well academically. Obtain high (70th% or higher) scores on the GRE. Gain as much veterinary experience as you can, especially in your area of interest in veterinary medicine, so that you can show a clear understanding of the veterinary profession. In addition, give your potential evaluator(s) ample opportunity to observe you in a clinical setting so that thorough letters of evaluation can be provided on your behalf. Try to acquire diverse veterinary experience working with a variety of animal species (small and large) to broaden your knowledge of the many aspects of veterinary medicine.

    12. What should I choose as an undergraduate major?

You may study or possess a degree in any major provided the pre-requisite courses are taken. However, if you take the majority of your course work in the sciences, you may be better prepared for the veterinary curriculum. Since many students will not be accepted to veterinary school due to limited space available, students should be prepared to pursue an alternate career goal and should seek a bachelor鈥檚 degree rather than simply taking pre-vet study courses. The majority of students accepted to our program pursue studies in the life or health sciences. Biology, animal science, zoology, and chemistry are the most common majors.

I would suggest, Wildlife, Fish %26amp; Conservation Biology or Animal Biology. You could also contact an UC Davis Admissions adviser for advise.
