As far as I can see we are only concerned in how we will be affected by the destruction we have caused. I have never seen any signs of repentance!Will God punish the human race for treating his wildlife with such contempt?

The whole ethos of ';God'; is at best bewildering. The ';God'; who creates universes, millions of planets, billions of stars, zillions of races - known and unknown - cannot be bothered to put in an appearance to help mankind clear up the aftermath of the recent sunami and earthquake in which widespread loss of life and destruction of property occurred.
Us human beings have to do this work ourselves because God can't be asked to do something so humbling as help clear up. On that basis alone ';God'; has already punished mankind by his inability to help out he creations in an emergency. Not bad for a ';God'; whose 2000 year old rule book (Bible) is as out of date and past it as the creator himself.

Clearly the Holy and Inerrant Word of God sets the animals under the dominion of Man ! This is how All of Creation fell not just mankind!
Get a real Bible and read it . The only Holy Bible is the King James Version! Changing the Holy Bible to suite yourself is creating an Idol to worship and placing your self above God !
God gave mankind dominion over the world - to care for it.
Clearly we do no care for it as well as we should/could, but the Bible does not mention specific punishment for mistreatment of creation.
However there is an obvious self-inflicted penalty. When we destroy nature we destroy our beautiful home, and we may destroy creaures and plants that are beneficial to us. We continue to discover plants that have medicinal properties, and we continue to find amazing design in nature that we copy for our own benefit. As a simple example - velcro was invented having observed birds feathers and how the hooks and barbs hold the filaments together. There is much research being done into how insects and birds fly - there is much that we don't yet understand. This may help us to built better flying machines of our own.

Punishment is here already, in the form of the gradual destruction of our own habitat and living resources.

revelation 11:18 says that He will destroy those that destroy the earth when Messiah arrives.
We are also the wildlife, but have tamed ourselves over time.
