hey, if you found your turtles in the wild and took them home i hate to say this but it'd probably be best to let them go. UNLESS. if youve had them for a while, because you'd be taking care of them and when they get in the wild they won't be used to not beeing hand fed and stuff like that.

p.s. i would see a veteranarian or pet doc about Terney. or someone who knows about reptiles and turtles. My turtles are wildlife turtles i think they would be happier in the wild should i let them go???
No - if you have had them for more than 3-4 months and/or bought them as captive turtles you should NOT release them! They are used to being fed and will not know how to survive in the wild as they can not fend for themselves after being in captivity for so long. Also - if you release them into the wild they might carry bacteria on them that the native population isn't immune to or vice versa.. It is not a good idea.

Your best bet is to find an organization that can either adopt them out or rehabilitate them back to the wild slowly. If you need help in finding one please let me know your area and I'll help you..

You can try looking here:

If you found them in the wild, the wild is where they should stay. You can buy a captive bred turtle. The difference between captive bred and captured turtles is turtles in the wild will know the difference between being taken from their home %26amp; put in a habitat, it will be torture. They are able to roam in the wild %26amp; go wherever they want. Captive breds wouldn't know the difference because they've always been in a habitat. You should really let them go. It will probably be tough to let them go because you're probably attached to them.

But how long ago did you take them out of the wild?
Do not release them unless you can put them back in the same exact body of water they came from!

red ear turtles are an established pest in many parts of the world, due to ignorant keepers that became bored with them.
i agree with deanna. 100% point proven-real fact
