How does recycling protect wildlife habitat??

and which animals have already been affected by this? i'm writing a paper on this so please leave the source. thanksHow does recycling protect wildlife habitat??
Plastic bags if not recycled or disposed of properly can find their ways into waterways where they kill or harm marine animals. Turtles, birds, and fish ingest these bags or get caught on them. The bags prevent them from eating, or strangle them. How does recycling protect wildlife habitat??
I don't know what animals have been affected by recycling. When you think about how much ground has to be disturbed to mine for ores and for the coal needed for the smelters to make usable metals its easy to see how recycling helps wildlife.
Ever seen the devastating impacts of plastic litter on wildlife, especially birds and marine life? Also, recycling reduces the need to site new landfills... less landfills mean more greenspace (wildlife habitat).
