Focus or Autofocus for wildlife shots?

Some people tell me to use Auto-focus for wildlife shots but some seem people also tell me I should use a focus lens =/... im new to photography and the price difference between the 2 is a problem right now.. but if its worth waiting to get an auto-focus lens I will...

So can people tell me which would be the better choice and why? Thanks..Focus or Autofocus for wildlife shots?
If you start out shooting using manual focus, you will learn how to make quick, accurate focus and learn to follow focus when the animal is moving toward to away from you position. You will find these techniques especially important then shooting animals during their feeding times, dawn and dusk, when auto-focus is sometimes fooled, especially if the animal and background lacks contrast.

Take a look at George Lepp's website.

good eye sighted and experienced shooters prefer to pre focus on wildlife - manually focus ahead of the subject and let it move into the frame and focus

if your not worried about the depth or where the focus falls use auto, it also depends on the lens you use - some at long lenghts in auto are just a waste of time they just search and search for a focus until the subject walks out of view.......

I will agree 100% with the others but unless you are using a lens that is more than 20 years old it will be autofocus and thus you wont save any money. That said they will all have a switch to set it to manual focus.
