Indiana Dunes National Park (see links below) is an outstanding spot for birding in the state. Not only do you get to see a wide number of birds that make the region their home, but also lakeside and and a variety of dune birds as well.
When we were last there we hiked along a rail-to-trail conversion path and I've never see so many red-winged blackbirds in one day!
The park reports, ';352 species of birds have been identified, with 113 of these being regular nesters.';
Hope you have a great time there!A good wildlife site for Indiana birds(pics too!)?
