What is unique to Provence, France? Foods? Customs? Wildlife? Flowers? etc... :)?

I am creating a logo for a french bakery, and i would like to incorperate something from the owners homeland. I've heard that lavender is something unique to that area.. but not much else. What is unique to Provence, France? Foods? Customs? Wildlife? Flowers? etc... :)?
shame on you that there is nothing else. Lavendar is grown in HUGE fields, as are sunflowers (as in van gough's sunflower) blue skies, cicadas, garlic, wood fired ovens, rosemary, pistou, i love their way of preparing lapin as well as confit of duck. the skies are very blue. there are the mistrals a cool wind that comes off the alpes, rhone wines, Avignon has what was once the pope's residence there, roman ruins, ... i think i want to go backWhat is unique to Provence, France? I agree with all that's been said. I spent many vacations there, both inland (Avignon, Grasse), and on the beach. The colours are bright due to the sunlight. The sun shines so beauifully. The living is easy. I'd play that for a bakery. Associate the joie de vivre and pleasure of the senses with the ability to go to the bakery three times a day to always get a crisp just baked baguette.
Lavender is. But also famous painters (Van Gogh, Cezanne), the Cote d'Azur.

In summary it's the colours that attract people.
You are right, lavender is. There is also perfume manufacturing at Grasse. Thyme and rosemary also grow wild there. Bourganvillia is popular too. If anything Provence is most famous for its riviera: St Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Port Grimaud and so on. So Marinas, boats, ports and beaches are all very much part of the picture. The area always reminds me of the 1920s and 30s when the rich used to motor down in their Rolls Royces through France and stay at the grand hotels. They were tourists before the rest of us.

I'd say the colours of the area are Azur (it is known as the Cote d'Azur), browns and purples. The hinterland has many old ancient villages and Avignon is very picturesque.
